Light, Shadow & Fog @ BOURSE DE COMMERCE

Paris — Summer 2026

This summer, the Bourse de Commerce — Pinault Collection explores the shifting boundaries between light, shadow and perception through Clair-obscur, on view until August 24, 2026.

Bringing together modern and contemporary works from the Pinault Collection, the exhibition revisits the tradition of chiaroscuro through a contemporary lens. Across the museum, darkness becomes more than an absence of light: it becomes material, atmosphere and a space for memory, imagination and the unconscious.

At the centre of the Rotunda, Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya transforms the architecture with Cloud #07156, a site-specific Fog Sculpture created for the Bourse de Commerce. Appearing and disappearing throughout the space, the work temporarily dissolves the boundaries between artwork, architecture and visitor.

Also on view, Laura Lamiel occupies the Passage and Machine Room with installations in which light, colour, objects and reflective surfaces create quieter explorations of visibility and perception.

Clair-obscur continues through 24 August, Fujiko Nakaya’s Cloud #07156 through 14 September, and Laura Lamiel’s presentation through 21 September 2026.
